MOBILE CRISIS TEAMS: The purpose of Mobile Crisis Teams is to avoid hospitalization by diverting individuals to crisis services when indicated. Typically, the services are provided where the individual is located, including the individual's home. To get more information on the crisis services in your area, please click on the Mobile Crisis Team of interest below.

(The following services are available to individuals of all ages):

Hotline: Available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week

Urgent Care:

  • Anne Arundel Crisis Response System

  • Can provide appointments within 48 hours for urgent cases requiring assessment and brief treatment.
  • Available 7 days/week, including holidays.
  • Urgent Care hours vary daily and include morning, afternoon, and evening hours.

Mobile Crisis Team:

  • A mobile crisis team is available 7 days/week, 365 days a year, including holidays.   Sunday through Thursday – 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.;
    Friday and Saturday – 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
  • Mobile crisis teams will go to the individual's home to provide crisis services. The mobile crisis team will go to a clinic where the individual is located, if the clinic grants permission.  A Hospital Diversion Team will go to Anne Arundel Medical Center and to Baltimore Medical Center (If resources allow).  Monday-Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Community Outreach Team of Anne Arundel County (COTAA):

  • COTAA is available Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (midnight).
  • The COTAA team serves seniors, the homeless, families, and individuals who have mental health issues and who are in unstable living environments.  The team provides in-house services and utilizes area resources.

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. (BCRI) (Baltimore City):

Hotline: Available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, the hotline provides help to people who are having a psychiatric crisis and to people who are homeless.

Crisis Team Services: From 7:00 a.m. to midnight, 7 days/week, the Crisis Team will go to where the individual is located to provide crisis services.  All admissions to BCRI are voluntary.

  • The Crisis Team provides services to adults who are residents of Baltimore City.
  • The Crisis Team will go to the individual's home, the emergency department, a clinic or any other location in or near Baltimore City.
  • BCRI provides beds to people in psychiatric crisis, including people in need of drug or alcohol detoxification.
  • BCRI provides aftercare and provides assistance in applying for benefits.
  • BCRI cannot assist people with major non-psychiatric medical problems.

Baltimore Child and Adolescents Response System (B-CARS):

Hotline: Available 24 hours/day, 7days/week, the hotline is available for individuals who are experiencing a crisis.

Child Mobile Crisis Team Services: Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m., the team will respond to wherever the child/adolescent is in crisis.

  • B-CARS provides crisis services to people under 18 years old who are having a psychiatric crisis and who are residents of Baltimore City.

 B-CARS provides crisis services to youths in their homes.  B-CARS helps arrange for any other necessary services.  B-CARS provides follow-up services to youths who have been discharged from a hospital.

  • B-CARS takes calls 24 hours a day everyday.  Emergency Department personnel can call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • The crisis teams will go to where the youth is located, including the home, the emergency department, a clinic, or other locations.

Baltimore County Crisis Team: 24/7 Hotline: (410) 931-2214

Mobile Crisis Team: (MCT) Staffed by specially trained County police officers and mental health clinicians, MCT can respond on-site to calls from the eastern portion of the County. Hours of operation: Daily 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m.

In Home Intervention Team (IHIT): Staffed by mental health professionals, IHIT can provide non-crisis, on-site assistance County-wide.  IHIT is available Monday -Friday, 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Urgent Care Clinic: Two locations; White Marsh, and Randallstown at Northwest Hospital.  Available 7 days/week, Monday-Friday evenings, Saturday/Sunday daytime. The clinic can provide an appointment within 48 hours for urgent cases requiring assessment and brief treatment.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing: Available County-wide to provide

de-briefing following a man made or natural traumatic community event.

Frederick County Crisis Services (Available 24/7):

Crisis Intervention Services: An urgent response phone system is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Hotline: 301-662-2255.

  • Mobile Crisis services are obtained by contacting the Frederick County Hotline at 2-1-1 or 301-662-2255.
  • Residential Crisis services are obtained through Way Station, Inc. at
    301-662-0099.

Mobile Crisis Services: Mobile Crisis services are available 7 days a week, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Services are available to Frederick County residents of all ages.
  • A Mobile Crisis Team will respond to any location in Frederick County.

Residential Crisis Services:

  • Residential Crisis services provide a safe, 24-hour supervised environment for the purpose of preventing or shortening inpatient hospitalization.
  • Staff assists consumers in obtaining resources or maintaining contact with existing supports, such as family and counseling agencies.
  • Transitional support is available to help the consumer maintain stability.
  • A person may remain at Residential Crisis until stabilized, and support systems are in place.

Mobile Crisis Services: Mobile crisis services are available from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 midnight (Monday-Friday) and 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (weekends).

  • Mobile services are provided to anyone located in Harford County. The person does not have to be a resident of Harford County.
  • The mobile crisis team may provide services where the individual is located, including the individual's home, in the community, and at emergency departments in hospitals.

Critical Incident/Disaster Response Team: Available County-wide to provide services following a critical incident or disaster in the community.

Other Crisis Services: Overnight and after-hours crisis services are available at Upper Chesapeake Hospital and Harford Memorial Hospital (psychiatric screenings).

  • On-site or telephone screening for adults in Montgomery County emergency rooms at risk of state funded psychiatric hospitalization.
  • Evaluation to determine the least restrictive treatment setting that will address treatment needs.
  • Linkage to in-patient treatment, outpatient treatment, residential crisis beds, and addiction resources.

Residential Crisis Services (Triage and Evaluation Program):

  • Provides triage and evaluation beds to prevent hospitalization and link with ongoing treatment.
  • The required procedure includes a telephone consultation and an evaluation by a Crisis Center Therapist.
  • A crisis bed can be obtained 24/7.
  • The maximum length of stay is 72 hours.

  • Crisis services are available to Prince George's County residents.
  • Crisis services are provided to adults, youth, and children age four years and older.
  • Crisis services are available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week for people experiencing mental health crises.
  • Services include community and police Mobile Crisis Team dispatch, In-Home family Intervention Team (IFIT) services, referral to residential crisis beds, linkage to psychiatric treatment services, and Critical Incident and Disaster Response.

  • Residential Crisis services provide a safe, 24-hour supervised environment for the purpose of preventing or shortening inpatient hospitalization.
  • Staff assists consumers in obtaining resources or maintaining contact with existing supports, such as family and counseling agencies.
  • Maximum stay is fourteen days.
  • Residential crisis bed services can be arranged through the Crisis Response System at the 301-429-2185 number.  Referrals to Crisis Residential Services can also come from the hospital, other community programs, family members, and individuals can self refer.

  • A mobile Crisis Response Team of social workers is available 24 hours/ 7 days a week.
  • Crisis services are provided to adults, children, and families in Worcester County.  The person does not have to be a resident.
  • Services are provided to people experiencing severe or acute psychiatric symptoms or mental health emergencies related to alcohol or drug abuse.
  • Staff works closely with law enforcement, emergency medical personnel and school staff to assist in safely resolving psychiatric emergencies and ensure that consumer is referred to appropriate community based mental health/substance abuse treatment. 
  • Crisis Services include:
  • On site safety and mental health assessments;
  • Consultation;
  • Referrals to community resources;
  • Follow-up with consumer to assist with referral process; and
  • Critical Incident Stress Management services.
